Happy Carnival, y’all! So much to look forward to between now and February 21. I’m excited to get my king cake on and to watch the Phunny Phorty Phellows kick off the season with their traditional festive Twelfth Night streetcar ride.
I will be watching from the Avenue Pub’s balcony, drinking a Brooklyn Brewery brown ale on cask. It is also the start of the Avenue’s/Balcony’s plastic cups during parades policy, FYI.
Also to note today: due to the insane crowds of the past two NOLA Brewing tours, they have created a new policy that if you want to partake of the tour n’ pour, you must arrive between 1:45 and 2:15pm.
Go out and kick off Carnival season in style!
UPDATE: The Crown and Anchor in Algiers (just hop on over on the ferry!) will be tapping a cask of NOLA Brewing’s Irish Channel Stout. Kirk and the gang should be there starting at 6pm
