We had a lovely Reveillon dinner at Restaurant August on Thursday night. While it is a primarily a wine restaurant, it has a revamped craft cocktail list and a rather lengthy list of local beers! Nothing on draft, but they have all the Abita line, Bayou Teche Biere Pale, a couple from Heiner Brau and Covington, and the Southern Pecan Stout from Magnolia. All bottles, but at least it is better than the anemic beer list (American and European lagers and the token Abita Amber) that most fine dining places in New Orleans offer.
I’m hoping that as NOLA Brewing puts more beer out in cans, that the Besh Restaurant Group adds them to their beer lists throughout the city. Would be great to have Orleans Parish’s only production brewery represented at August, Luke, Domenica, American Sector, and Besh Steak House!
